WHO WE ARE

Established in 2004, Friends of Del Rio Animals (FDRA) is
the No kill shelterfirst 501(c)3 tax exempt animal rescue organization in the history of Del Rio, Texas. Our ultimate
goal was to build a no-kill animal shelter
for which we would try to raise money through donations and grant writing, however the current economic situation does not make it feasible at this time. In the meantime we are working to educate folks about the importance of spay/neuter, and conducting fundraisers/taking donations so that we may hold two low-cost spay/neuter clinics per year, and to fund our ongoing Trap, Neuter, Release, feral cat program. Our goal at this point and time is to make Del Rio a "No More Homeless Pets" community through spay/neuter assistance.

****HELP DEL RIO BECOME A "NO MORE HOMELESS PETS" COMMUNITY. START OUT RIGHT AT HOME AND SPAY/NEUTER YOUR PETS. ****

FDRA will be partnering with the City of Del Rio's Animal Control Facility after it is built, but until then we will focus on raising money, and awareness for spay/neuter assistance programs. FDRA will be offering educational programs (upon request) to schools, day care facilities/ learning centers and clubs on topics such as, "The Importance of Spaying/Neutering Your Pet", "Responsible Pet Ownership and Proper Pet Handling", "Bite Prevention", and "Anti Animal Abuse."

FDRA hopes that by promoting spaying/neutering, the overall homeless pet population, will be reduced. The Feral Cat Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program is going strong as we are working on sterilizing the feral cat population of Del Rio & Val Verde County. Click here for flyer

Come to our meeting on September 2, 2010. Become a member for only $10 a year and help volunteer for some of these educational programs and events! Under 18 years of age? Junior memberships are $5 a year, with a signed parental permission form more
